I want to install a set of mono leaf springs on my 1953 Ford f-100. I have a 383 Mopar with a 727 torque flight tranny. Will mono leafs support this unit safely? My friend has them on his with basically the same set up. His springs are straight out with no upward curve. Is this ok? He says he checked and was told no problem this is normal. Also he bought his from mid fifties and was told to install a 4 degree shim on his front springs. Why is this? I have bought several sets from you guys and never gone wrong. Give me the straight scoop on these questions please. Need your advice to decide. Also was thinking of also using a good set of KYB shocks with this set up. Sound ok to you? As for shocks, they can make or break any suspension. Always go for the best shock you can afford. Never buy one because it "fits". KYB is a good shock along with QA1 (THE best) and Edelbrock. - Mike
